Beef Stew with Peas



Ingredients (serving for four):
- 1 lb stewing beef
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 red onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup green peas or green beans (optional)
- 1 cup water

Preparation:
- Cut beef in small cubes.
- Heat butter in a flat pan on medium heat. Add stewing beef to the pan and brown until the meat changes color. Mix corn starch to the beef.
- Add onion, carrots, potatoes and peas (or green beans) to the pan. Stir for 2 minutes. Then add water. When water boils, turn the heat to low. Close the lid to simmer for 30 minutes.
